Product details

Otl Aicher (1922-1991) was one of the outstanding representatives of modern design and co-founder of the legendary Ulm School of Design (HfG). The term "visual communication," which is widely used today, can be traced back to him. His creations since the 1950s, such as the pictograms for the 1972 Munich Summer Olympics, are among the great achievements of our visual culture. The texts gathered here explore a "world as design" and are fundamentally part of his work. In navigating the history of thinking and designing, building and constructing, he affirms the possibilities of arranging human existence. The question remains about the conditions under which a culture of civilization can be produced. These conditions must be fought for against apparent constraints.
