Wilhelm Busch was already one of Germany's well-known personalities in the 1870s. At the time of his death, he was considered a "classic of German humour" who achieved great popularity with his satirical picture stories. Today he is considered one of the pioneers of comics. This humorous house treasure contains the picture stories Die fromme Helene, Plisch und Plum, the Knopp trilogy, Balduin Bählamm, Fipps der Affe, Dideldum and others. Illustrated with 1500 b/w illustrations. Many of his two-liners such as "Becoming a father is not difficult, but being a father is" or "This was the first prank, but the second one follows immediately" have become established idioms. Wilhelm Busch's work contributed to the development of comics. His work has therefore increasingly earned him the honorary epithet from the second half of the 20th century onwards.
