Product details
As an avowed enemy of all relaxation efforts, William S. Schlamm (1904-1978) was for a time the most controversial and prominent publicist in West Germany. After having held a pacifist left-intellectual stance in the 1930s, Schlamm's ideological conversion to a supporter and propagandist of militant anti-communism began with his emigration to the USA. In her book, Susanne Peters combines biographical elements with an analysis of ideas based on previously partially unprocessed sources, thus contributing to the press history of the 20th century as well as to the debate on totalitarianism.
