The foundation and prerequisite of this work was the conviction that sexuality is part of being human - including for people with disabilities. From the engagement with questions of sexuality and partnership, the desire for a practical guide for sexual education discussions with individuals with intellectual disabilities emerged. Our goal is to empower individuals with intellectual disabilities to understand their bodies and their functions in a sexual context, so that they can engage with their individual sexuality, as well as the reproductive, pleasure, and social functions associated with it.
