Born in 1934, this is a generation that experienced an exciting, eventful, and moving childhood and adolescence. Many of us grew up without fathers and still hear the wailing of sirens today. With the end of the war, we became teenagers and experienced hunger, housing shortages, and the plight of refugees, as well as the spirit of optimism that spread with the currency reform. Elvis, James Dean, and the Beatles became our idols, and we eagerly rushed into the future.
