Born in 1943, our early years were marked by hardship. Many of us experienced chocolate for the first time only in school. But then came an exciting time: we were thrilled with our first bicycle, sat with flushed cheeks in front of the black-and-white television, and were fascinated by the increasing motorization. Then came the tumultuous economic miracle era: we listened to the sounds from the jukebox, found our first love in dance school, and for many, working life began at just 14. Meanwhile, we dreamed of a bus trip to Spain or a camping holiday in Holland.
