Product details

This book brings together case studies on crisis resilience in eight German-speaking regions, each with different structural conditions, adaptation strategies and tools, crisis experiences, and economic successes. Compared to other European countries, the economic development in the German-speaking countries of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland over the past decade is viewed positively. Employment and exports have increased, and economic growth only experienced a relatively short-term decline during the global economic crisis year of 2009. The case studies are based on expert interviews in the respective regions and at national and European levels, as well as two workshops with practitioners from the studied regions in Baden-Württemberg and Saxony. The target audience for the book includes practitioners in state governments.
