Whether it's a smartphone, television, camera, or MP3 player, children use a variety of media and media offerings from an early age to entertain themselves, express themselves, and satisfy their need for stories. For children, media are an integral part of their environment. Unfortunately, the educational significance of these media in daycare centers, schools, and after-school programs is still not very high. The book "Swipe, Click, Snap - Media Work with Children" illustrates how meaningful media education and media work with children aged two to twelve can look. It is not about qualifying children for media use as early as possible, but rather about demonstrating age-appropriate ways to engage with various media and supporting children in their media interactions. The starting point for media educational work with children should be their everyday lives.
