Product details

Hegel's "Science of Logic" is nothing less than the scientific presentation of the system of pure reason. In its three parts - "Being" (1812/1832), "The Doctrine of Essence" (1813), and "Subjective Logic or the Doctrine of the Concept" (1816) - it follows the path by which thought determines itself as thinking that comprehends and is self-comprehending. From the very beginning, it is characterized by the fact that the stages of this path, that is, the forms of thought, are evaluated not according to their adaptation to or functionality for something else, but through immanent critique. With this concept of a self-critical and self-determining reason, the "Science of Logic" has not made it easy for its readers and has sparked profound controversies regarding its interpretation from its publication to the present day.
