Why is the participation of students becoming increasingly important - not only for themselves but also for the quality of schools and the future of our society? Which forms of participation are particularly relevant in this context? And above all: how can student participation be promoted in a way that goes beyond mere structures and helps make participation a part of school culture? Various authors present approaches and concepts for promoting participation based on their practical experiences. These include participatory teaching and learning concepts such as service learning and deliberation forums, as well as approaches to fostering participation in school life, such as class councils, student parliaments, student companies, and negotiation models.
