Oderbruch. The German-Polish private detective Sven Rübel is experiencing relationship stress: his girlfriend Eileen wants to meet his mother, which he finds incomprehensible. Additionally, his new partner, former police officer Frank Fechner, makes life difficult for him with his excessive correctness. When a fisherman pulls a woman's corpse from the Oder, a prostitute goes missing, and a seemingly upstanding citizen is assaulted, Rübel must put aside his personal turmoil and do everything he can to get to the bottom of these events.
