He worked as a writer and freelance journalist, contributing to publications such as Der Spiegel, Stern, Weltwoche, WochenZeitung, and Tages-Anzeiger. He received various awards, including the Zurich Journalist Prize, the Max Frisch Prize, and the St. Gallen Culture Prize. The author passed away in 1993.
