Product details

The novel begins with a dramatic encounter between hungry wolves and people with sled dogs. There is a terrible famine, and the pack of wolves is pursuing the humans and their dogs in search of food. Wolfsblood's mother, Kische, plays an important role here, as she is only half wolf. During this time, she meets Wolfsblood's father, a purebred wolf. In the next part of the novel, Wolfsblood's first months of life are recounted: how he arrives at an Indian camp with his mother and spends his youth there. He is soon separated from his mother and often fights with the other dogs of the Indians. For the Indians, Wolfsblood proves to be an exceptionally good sled dog. Later, he is used as a lead dog and is hated by the other dogs because he receives special treatment. He must prove his strength to the dogs daily after the harness is removed. Jack London (1876-1916) was an American writer and journalist. He became particularly famous for his adventure novels "The Call of the Wild" and "Wolfsblood," as well as for the frequently adapted adventure novel "The Sea-Wolf" and the autobiographically influenced novel "Martin Eden.".
