With Christoph Janacs, the Keiper Lyrik series presents a versatile literate and experienced poet who has already published around thirty independent book titles. His oeuvre includes poems, narrative prose, and secondary texts, with the main emphasis, not only in terms of the number of titles, on poetry. In the current volume, Janacs gathers poems that are influenced by the reading of other poets, and in some cases, by personal encounters with them. A high degree of formal rigidity characterizes the texts, which are written as haikus, tankas, or chain poems, interwoven thematically and arranged into a symmetrical overall composition. It is precisely from the self-imposed strictness of forms and structures that Janacs generates inner spaces that allow him a literary-philosophical approach to those poetic personalities.
