In the spring of 2016, a group of artists, from the Berufsverband Bildender Künstler Heidelberg and a guest artist from Ulm, transformed fences, scattered ashes, installed sculptures, flags and other objects, hung pictures and painted room walls: the result was the art exhibition "Caesura" in the Kommandantenvilla and the park surrounding it of the former US headquarters in Heidelberg. Caesura in the history of Heidelberg: not a gentle process of transformation, but a sharp-edged transition from many years of military use to civilian revitalization and "taking possession", which the artists invited by Grete Werner-Wesner wanted to actively shape and reflect upon with the help of art. The intention was to set accents, accents for a large-scale reorganization of urban space that had never before existed in Heidelberg.
