Throughout the 20th century, artistic interest in the theme of space has fundamentally changed, alongside new art forms such as installation, conceptual art, and light art. In contemporary art, there is a remarkably multifaceted redefinition of space: the concept of space now encompasses not only design and constructive aspects but also virtual, sociocultural, and interactive components. The catalog for the exhibition "Raumwunder" presents seven current positions in geometric abstract art that conquer, expand, and reshape space in various ways. Installations and walk-in artworks are part of the exhibition, as well as three-dimensional objects made from mirrors, cotton threads, and typical construction materials such as concrete, particle board, or steel profiles.
