Yamaha FJ1200
English, 2010Product details
The Yamaha FJ1200 and FJ1100 are sport touring motorcycles that were produced by Yamaha Motor Corporation between 1984 and 1996. In 1986, Yamaha decided to enhance the performance of the FJ1100 by increasing its displacement as well as improving the suspension and other components. The result was the FJ1200. It was produced in three main versions (1TX, 3CV, and 3XW), with each updated version benefiting from improvements to the bodywork and front and rear suspension components, and an optional ABS version (FJ1200A) was offered from 1991 to 1996 before Yamaha discontinued the FJ1200 in the UK. In the USA, the model was discontinued in 1993. Competitors in the market during its production years included the BMW K100RS, Suzuki's 1100 Katana, and Kawasaki's Ninja ZX-10.
