In a multi-family house in Bielefeld, three women come together whose biographies could hardly be more different. Police officer Nina Gruber is spending her sabbatical year not as planned on picturesque beaches, but caring for her difficult mother. Young kiosk owner Yasemin Nowak loves life and doesn't hold back in matters of the heart, but she is increasingly troubled by the eerie letters from a secret admirer. When a body is found in the kiosk's paper recycling bin, the three mismatched women team up to investigate on their own, primarily to distract themselves from their own problems.
