The challenges of memorial site policy in a (post-)migrant society. The contribution of historical remembrance to the democratic stabilization of a (post-)migration society in Germany has been considered not only since 2015, when a large number of refugees arrived in the country. However, one question has become increasingly urgent since then: How can the self-critical engagement with National Socialism, which is fundamentally oriented towards national history, be opened up and made relevant for people of different backgrounds beyond the national historical reference framework, without imposing historical identity or disconnecting National Socialism from its German origins? This volume gathers impulses for discourse on these questions, provides guidance for educational practice, and encourages a reflective historical consciousness.
