This volume contains, in addition to texts about the relationship between the communist fighters in Spain and the Communist International after the Spanish Civil War, the KPD's defense in Spain, the treatment of the Spanish fighters in the Federal Republic of Germany, and about German left-wing socialists and libertarians, primarily portrait photos of the Spanish fighters, previously unpublished images from private estates and collections, as well as recordings from the French camps where the volunteers were interned after their withdrawal from Spain. With Volume 1, we gave a name to the brave; with Volume 2, a face. This book is designed as a supplement to the biographies in the first volume and was created with the collaboration of Maguerite Bremer, Peter Fisch, Dieter Nelles, and Karlen Vesper.
