Temporary work has been an important and simultaneously controversial tool for integrating unemployed individuals into the primary labor market for some time now. Although the number of temporary workers and temporary employment agencies has significantly increased over the past decade, the empirical basis regarding the success of this measure in terms of the so-called stepping-stone effect, as well as the subjective experiences of temporary workers and their overall participation in society, is relatively limited. This aims to contribute to the current discussion by presenting, discussing, and contextualizing the results of an interview study with experts and affected individuals within the ongoing professional discourse.
