With the outbreak of the Hussite Revolution in 1419, Bohemia faced a powerful coalition of European crusader armies. The German knighthood experienced a final flourish. However, under the leadership of energetic commanders like Jan Zizka, the armies of the Bohemian heretics developed tactics that allowed them to win battle after battle. The defensive use of the war wagon and the intensive use of the first artillery brought them success. Since the times of the Romans, the Hussites were the first to coordinate all available types of troops on the battlefield. This volume sheds light on the weapons and types of arms, organization, and tactics of the Hussite armies.
