My appeal to German readers can be simply explained. It is time for them to no longer be coerced into silence due to the politics and actions of the Zionist state of Israel; a politics and actions that not only oppress the Palestinians and deny their human and political rights but also pose a threat to the best interests of Jews everywhere as well as to the moral integrity of Judaism itself. Silence could too easily be interpreted as support for Zionism, whether rightly or wrongly, and at worst, some might label it as consent to the crimes of Zionism. The conflict in Palestine and around Palestine, which has become Israel, is the cancer at the heart of international issues that could destroy us all if it is not healed.
