The earlier students learn to handle a compass and a protractor, the easier they will find geometry lessons in secondary school later on. This volume therefore contains a variety of exercises at 15 stations of a learning center for the 4th grade. There, children playfully experiment with the drawing tools and practice the correct handling as required by current curricula. The learning center is integrated into a complete teaching unit that includes learning assessments, self-evaluation by the students, and a final learning objective control. For each station, there are task cards, worksheets, and solutions for self-checking. Based on individual practice plans, students create patterns from circles, draw parallel lines, and construct surfaces, for example. The individual tasks are divided into three levels of difficulty, allowing children to progress according to their abilities.
