With the introduction of new European standards for materials and products, it became necessary to restructure the existing regulations for the production and processing of asphalt. This led to the transition from ZTV Asphalt-StB 01 to ZTV Asphalt-StB 07 and the creation of TL Asphalt-StB 07, which represents the national implementation of the asphalt standards series DIN EN 13108. At the same time, the further development of asphalt construction methods through new research and practical experiences necessitated a content revision and expansion of the central regulations for asphalt road construction. This made it essential to also redesign and expand the established commentary on the ZTV Asphalt-StB.
