Product details

Nietzsche's excursions against reason are not irrationalism. They are testimonies of a fierce love for reason, one that is deeply wounded and disappointed. Out of love for reason, Nietzsche suffers from its shortcomings and feels compelled to expose its entire inadequacy.

Nietzsche is the embodiment of revolt against abstraction. He revolted intellectually by revealing the instinctual entrails of the intellect; literarily, by abandoning the entire cumbersome nature of argumentative proof in favor of an impulsive, illustrative, image-based outburst of thought that gave philosophical language an unprecedented vividness and lightness. Last but not least, he also revolted physically against abstraction by becoming ill from the professorship—so to speak, from the academic world of his time, which merely represents the intellectual veneer of the so-called industrial culture.

Christoph Türcke, born in 1948, is a retired professor of philosophy at the Academy of Graphic Design and Book Art in Leipzig and the author of numerous books. He was awarded the Sigmund Freud Culture Prize. His works published by zu Klampen include 'Mediation as God', 'Perspectives of Critical Theory', 'On the Ideological Critique Potential of Theology', 'Holy Whore Reason', 'The New Activity', 'Violence and Taboo', 'Religious Turn', 'Financial Statement', 'The Madman: Nietzsche and the Madness of Reason', 'Sexus and Spirit', 'Fundamentalism - Masked Nihilism', 'Homeland: A Rehabilitation', 'Jesus' Dream: Psychoanalysis of the New Testament', 'Luther - Profile of a Conviction Offender', 'Nietzsche's Passion for Reason', 'Suffering for Nothing', and 'Blasphemy'.
