Dream protocols are the plots of the artworks, not the artworks themselves. The dream is the artwork. After years of engaging with dreams, Christof Wackernagel discovered the revolutionary potential of dreams. He embarked on a research journey into the unconscious, which began in the depths of the individual mind and led to the heart of society. After more than forty years of self-experimentation, he now presents a collection of dream protocols that illuminate the state of our society by daring to reflect on its dreamed image within individual consciousness.

Christof Wackernagel, born in 1951, was an actor and member of the media collective Production Community of Writing, Sound, and Image from 1967 to 1977. From 1977 to 1987, he was imprisoned for armed political activities and membership in the RAF. Hermann van Hoogen, the police officer who arrested Wackernagel and later became his friend, also advocated for his early release. Since 1987, Wackernagel has been active again as an actor and author, participating in numerous film and television productions. His published works include: Nadja. Stories and Fragments (1984); Images of an Exhibition. Stories (1986); Gadhafi Invites (2002); Lying, Stupid, and Shameless. Essays (2015); as well as radio plays, theater pieces, and contributions to anthologies. He is the initiator of the cultural caravan Humanity's Ark. He published Gadhafi Invites (2002), the Dream Trilogy (2011), RAF or Hollywood (2017), and Speak Instead of Shoot (2019) with zu Klampen.
