The decentralized pumping system has made it practically possible to implement the concept of throttling-free heating systems in recent years. This involves a central individual room control system with decentralized, information-networked pumps. Due to their special design, such systems are also referred to as hydraulically ideal. In terms of overall system optimization, they represent a promising approach. However, high investment costs are a significant barrier to the widespread adoption of central individual room control systems in residential buildings. Savings on energy costs can contribute to the amortization of increased capital costs. Therefore, a focus of the work is to develop reliable statements regarding the energy savings potential of decentralized pumping systems, taking into account a complex overall control concept.
