This work provides a detailed overview of the stability and bifurcation behavior of high-speed rotors in hydrodynamic journal bearings. The nonlinear investigations conducted focus not only on circular cylindrical journal bearings with a lubricant film but also on the nonlinear behavior of rotors in floating bush bearings. For this purpose, numerical path-following methods are applied to various rotor models.
