This work is aimed at scientists and experts in research and development, both in academic and industrial settings. It provides insight into the methodology of protective development, considering both experimental implementation and modeling through numerical simulation. The study presents investigations into hybrid protective structures made from metallic alloys, thermoplastic polymers, and continuous glass fiber-reinforced thermosets. These are examined and characterized under quasi-static and dynamic conditions, taking various environmental influences into account. An evaluation of hybrid layer structures under ballistic stress is conducted using the FSP 20 mm according to STANAG 4569. Innovative measurement methods are employed to determine parameters from the ballistic tests. The modeling of the materials is also addressed.
