The League of German Girls, despite its significant status in the Nazi state, has remained a largely overlooked subject of research. This study first focuses on the chronology of the BDM from 1923 to 1939. Through an overview of the organizational history, the reader gains an introduction to the subsequent thematic-systematic and analytical considerations regarding the organizational content and self-understanding of the BDM, as well as the role of female youth in the Nazi economic structure (mandatory year, girls' land service).
