Collaboration with parents is both a daily requirement and a challenge for educators, especially when cultural and linguistic barriers come into play. The interaction of all adults who support and promote children's education forms the foundation for the quality of child development. The author presents creative ways to initiate and cultivate cooperation with parents of all backgrounds. Parents with migration backgrounds are seen as individuals with unique experiences as well as linguistic and cultural knowledge that can and should be utilized. Educators receive methodological suggestions for intercultural design of individual contacts, thematic group work, and collaboration in projects.
