I have always liked Mira Magén, but I love this novel of hers the most! Mirjam Pressler Nava is 39 when she gives up her career as an interior designer to work as a cashier in a supermarket and moves into a senior living facility. Is she crazy? No. Nava lost her husband and young son in an accident. And with all the strength she has left, she wants to refuse any future. Yet, no matter how much she shuts herself off, she attracts people like a magnet: a troubled colleague pours out his heart to her, the elderly, her new neighbors, seek her friendship, and there are men who admire her and, to her surprise, awaken her desire once again. The key to her soul, however, lies with Hanan, her brother, the carpenter, who goes to great lengths in an unusual way to bring her back into the flow of life.
