The aim of this therapy concept for adolescents and adults with eating disorders is to rebuild healthy movement behavior and the joy associated with it, while simultaneously reducing compulsive, ritualized movement behavior. For the first time, an evidence-based, German-language therapy manual focuses on compulsive movement behavior as a common symptom in patients with anorexia and bulimia, which has previously been difficult to treat and is associated with unfavorable prognoses. The uniqueness of this approach lies in the integration of cognitive behavioral therapy and clinical movement therapy. Following a brief overview of the symptoms, diagnostics, and treatment of compulsive movement behavior, a practical guide for conducting the eight therapy sessions is provided. The manual is designed for both inpatient and outpatient group settings but can also be applied in individual settings. Work materials are available on the accompanying CD-ROM.
