The essays printed here, spanning almost four decades, reflect a segment of the catch-up process in economic theory following the dominance of the historical school and the war, while also adequately considering the demographic aspects of the development process. It can be traced how the author, as a scholar, engaged with the current economic and socio-political issues of the time. The discussions held in the 1950s and 1960s regarding wage policy, wealth concentration, and income distribution were linked by Bombach to a personal commitment to promoting wealth creation, which he also viewed as a weapon against the acceleration of inflation. Predominantly, those publications were selected that attempt to address contentious issues in the theoretically simplest way.
