When Mark and Ronald meet during the summer holidays in the Jura, they are just outgrowing their childhood. During these and subsequent holidays in the following years, a strong bond develops between them. However, a fateful motorcycle accident drives a wedge between the two young men; one is concerned about his health and future, while the other is overwhelmed by the situation.

Fifteen years later, when Mark inherits the forested area along with the associated cabin – the place of their former shared adventures – a reunion with consequences takes place. The initially reserved encounter between the two men in their mid-thirties soon reveals youthful exuberance and rekindles trust, but it also creates space for alternative life paths that can finally be explored. In the private forest, Mark and Ronald discover what they once wanted to become, what they could still become – and what belongs forever to the past.
