The Italian label family Media Records was highly successful in the charts from the early 90s deep into the 2000s, prominently represented in the mainstream by artists such as Mauro Picotto, Gigi D'Agostino, Cappella, and Prezioso. It is easy to forget that alongside the chart successes, there was also a strong connection to the underground and club culture, reflected in countless releases that are rightly revered as cult classics today. Ricardo Ferri, also known as Ricky Effe, Mario Piu, Saccoman, and repeatedly Mauro Picotto expressed their preference for tasteful and/or relentless tracks and remixes that were too uncompromising for the charts and clearly positioned for club use. On this mix CD, many of these tracks are now rediscovered and woven together by DJ veteran Chris Kionke, who aims to introduce these classics to a new audience and is set to transport the treasures of the past to today's dance floors: Media Records Re-Discovered.
