Printer

Not all printers are the same. Find out which printer (laser printer, inkjet printer, colour printer or black and white only) you should buy here. What are the advantages of an inkjet printer over a laser printer? Should it be a black-and-white printer (mono laser) or a colour printer?

Almost every model prints, scans and copies A4, A5 and letter-size documents. If you print frequently and only want to print texts or documents, then a mono laser is the cheapest option. If you want to print in colour from time to time, then a colour laser is a good choice. Manufacturers such as Canon, Epson and HP have inkjet printers on offer that score points with a low price per page or can keep up with a laser printer in terms of speed. If you also want to print photos occasionally, an inkjet printer is the right choice. In the office, the HP model series (OfficeJet Pro and LaserJet Pro) have been the classics for years.

The printers often differ only slightly and each brand has a variety of models with different configurations:
ADF (automatic document feeder) and duplex printing (printing on both sides) are now mostly standard and frequently used features on a laser multifunction printer. Duplex scanning (scanning on both sides) is also a useful function, but not every device offers it. Connectivity is a similar story. Most models can be connected to the end device via USB or network connection (LAN). In the meantime, however, wireless connectivity (WLAN) is often integrated or can at least be purchased with an adapter. Do you also want to be able to print from your smartphone or tablet? Then models that support mobile printing are very practical for quickly printing something from your mobile device.

With high-priced laser printers, the paper capacity can often be expanded by purchasing additional paper trays. This means you can print for longer without having to add more paper. Laser printers are mainly used in the business environment, but are also becoming increasingly popular in the home office due to falling prices. One advantage of laser printers is that they can print up to DIN A3.
