ok, problem solved by myself after 6 hours of trying: Fujitsu owes me a day's support: If the ScanSnap Manager AND the Scansnap Home are installed at the same time, the device does not show any setting options on the touchscreen. For whatever reason, this is a complete fail. Solution: complete uninstallation of all the junk and ONLY installation of the ScanSnap Home App. Then it works. Rating is still being adjusted.
