Question about Canon Dr-F120

I am trying to install the software for the DR-F120 scanner. The operating system is Windows 10 HOME / 64bit. I have downloaded and installed the latest TWAIN driver and the latest version of CaptureOn Touch V4 Pro from the Canon support homepage. No errors occurred during the installation. As soon as I connect and switch on the scanner and start CaptureOnTouch, I get the error message: "Runtime Error! Program: ..Files (x86)\Canon Electronics\CapureOnTouch\TouchDR.exe abnormal program termination" and CaptureOnTouch exits. So I can't use the scanner! I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software several times but the problem persists. I have tried installing on a second PC and the problem occurs there too. Does anyone know anything more?

Have you removed the transport backup?
Install the latest Visual C++ redistributables here. 2005, 2008 and 2015-2022 are the most common. Always install both x86 and x64 versions. These are common libraries used by different programmes. Usually they are installed by the software. If they are missing, this leads to the strangest error messages. You can see which ones are installed under Settings.Apps. You can uninstall outdated versions and replace them with the latest version.
