I've been using this "workhorse" for almost 7 years now and wouldn't want to be without it - it works without complaint and doesn't need any frippery. At least that's my subjective impression. Recently, I thought about buying a second one (yes, I know, technology has advanced a bit in the meantime - maybe), and I realised that the MFC currently costs just under 1000 and is in no way comparable to the 175 from back then (which was admittedly a promotion)... Why is this device suddenly so expensive?

Thank you for your reply - please note: I paid the 175 at Digitec at the time, not elsewhere. That's why it's so surprising to me
