Ashtray designed by Marianne Brandt for Alessi. This ashtray consists of two parts: a basin for cigarettes and ash, and a lid. As simple as the design is, it is also clever. The shiny polished stainless steel surface looks elegant and transforms a rather unrefined item like an ashtray into a true design object.
