The architect Alvar Aalto designed the Aalto collection in 1936. It won a gold medal at the Karhula-Iittala Glass Competition and became the competition entry for the 1937 Paris World Exposition. Today, Aalto is a globally recognized symbol of modern Scandinavian design, and the individual pieces are true masterpieces of craftsmanship. Each Aalto bowl is mouth-blown in the Iittala glass factory, hand-ground, and then polished multiple times. The Aalto bowl 26.2 x 5 cm follows the original shape from the 1930s in a multifunctional bowl size that meets today's needs. It is ideal for home decoration, displaying personal items, or serving treats like candies.
