Architect Alvar Aalto designed the Aalto collection in 1936, winning gold in the Karhula Iittala Glass Competition and becoming the competition entry for the 1937 Paris World's Fair. Today, Aalto is a globally recognised symbol of modern Scandinavian design and the individual pieces are true masterpieces of craftsmanship. Each Aalto bowl is mouth-blown in the glass factory of Iittala, hand-cut and then polished several times. The Aalto bowl 262 x 50 mm follows the original shape from the 1930s in a multifunctional bowl size that meets today's needs. Ideal for decorating the home, displaying personal items or serving treats such as confectionery.
