They are particularly characterized by a higher efficiency compared to standard LED lamps, a wider beam angle, and lower power consumption. The vertical arrangement of the filaments distributes the light uniformly in all directions, and the optics strongly resemble traditional incandescent bulbs. The LEDs provide full light output instantly and generate significantly less heat compared to conventional incandescent or energy-saving lamps. There is no UV radiation, and they are free of mercury. Outdoor use is possible in at least IP44-rated outdoor lights, and with filament lamps that do not contain plastic, they can even be used directly outdoors.
