Try to insulate the cables and make sure that the wire does not stick out. It got better with me. Otherwise, get new ones because something is broken internally - my lamps are not cheap.

I think this is far too expensive a solution for stairwell lighting... in my view, it would be overkill. If I understand correctly, the switch disconnects the entire lamp from the power supply. When the power is back on, the Philips Hue switches on with the standard setting (white, bright). You don't even need a bridge for this. For a stairwell, I would use normal wall or ceiling lamps. If I had to change something, I would bridge all the switches and install a lamp with a built-in motion detector on each floor. Then there is only ever light on the floor where someone is and you never have to search for or press a switch. That's real convenience (I have this in my stairwell to the basement)!

This lamp always needs a Philips Hue Bridge. It cannot be controlled directly with a smartphone alone. The switch-on delay is minimal, I would estimate less than 1 second, but I haven't measured it exactly. You can connect the lamp to a normal on/off switch. Hue lamps light up after switching on, e.g. also when the voltage is restored after a power failure.

I am an electrician myself. Basically, these panels are not meant for outdoor use. Nevertheless, they probably know best whether it will ever rain there. But in your case I would mount it. There is about 4 cm between the ceiling and the top of the panel. Mechanically it is constructed in such a way that no water can flow into it. If you have any further questions, please contact me

Thank you for your advice. The white palette ranges from warm white to cool white. But the panel can also do coloured light (more than 16 million colours).
