The only difference, as far as I know, is that with the whitening programme there is an additional 2x 15sec cleaning after the end of the cleaning programme. Once for the upper front teeth, once for the lower teeth. But the cleaning method is the same.
I am very satisfied with the toothbrush and would buy it again immediately.

Personally, I don't think so. I always clean with the same programme (cleaning). And that's exactly why I find this "simple" and therefore inexpensive version from the Sonicare line a good deal.
