Alfredo Häberli designed this glass series for the Finnish tableware manufacturer iittala with the intention that they create an appealing and balanced ensemble on the table. The usual "up" and "down" variation in the height of glasses, which can appear messy, should not disrupt an elegantly set table. Therefore, Alfredo Häberli ensures that the bases and stems of the glasses are all the same length. Even the proportions of the bowls are similar: the red wine glass is consistently wider in diameter than the white wine glass, which Häberli designed to be just slightly wider than the typical champagne flute. The only exceptions are the small sherry glass and the water glass. All Essence glasses from iittala are dishwasher safe and can be securely grasped due to their flat, slightly curved glass shape.
