Everyone is familiar with the fine stropping of sharp razors over a leather blade from movies. Stropping is a refined method of honing and polishing knives to maintain ideal sharpness. At the same time, it cares for the surface of high-quality Damascus knives.

The stropping belt set consists of a beech wood stropping belt covered with leather and a polishing paste. Regular polishing increases longevity and ensures the ideal sharpness of high-quality kitchen knives.

Polishing is typically done after sharpening the chef's knife. The blade of the knife is drawn across the leather. This stropping further sharpens the knife and ensures the longevity of the blade.

Application:
Before the first use, spread some polishing paste on the leather of the stropping belt and massage it in with your fingertips. Allow the cream to absorb for about 5 minutes. Since the polishing paste is very efficient, the leather does not need to be re-applied with paste before each use.

Now, draw the knife with light pressure against the cutting direction several times over the leather. This process should be repeated 10 to 12 times. Then switch the blade side. The angle when stropping is approximately the same as when sharpening with a whetstone.
