I might have a better idea. I bought the Vornado room air circulators, which can transport air up to 24 m and circulate it in a room. If such a room air circulator were placed in the cold air flow of the air conditioner, it would transport the cool air further into the room, so that an extension might not be necessary at all. Such a room air circulator is a good thing for an air conditioner anyway, because if it is directed towards the ceiling, it also ensures that it is equally cool in the whole room.
