Brushed alpaca is made from alpaca fibers that are twisted together with a strong nylon thread, which holds everything together when the alpaca fibers are brushed. This results in a soft, lightweight, and airy yarn with a fluffy appearance.
Alpaca is about three times warmer than regular wool, making it an excellent insulator. The fiber is hollow on the inside and breathable, so it feels warm when it's cold and cool when it's hot.
